Systems Engineering Division

The research areas of Systems Engineering are control, steering and communication technology, navigation and location technology, data communication, data processing, measurement technology and multimedia. 

About the division

In recent years, the Division of Systems Engineering has participated in research projects in collaboration with national and European companies in the field of information technology and multimedia.   

These include, in particular, various remote services distributed to users over high-speed ATM networks, e.g. photo by order and distance learning.   

One of the latest topics is research into software development improvements.

Research

The use of simulators to simulate the behavior of dynamic systems has been an extensive area of the division.

The division has collaborated with Reykjavík Energy and Rafhönnun on the construction of a simulator of the Nesjavellir power plant. 

An air traffic simulator and radar data processing simulator has also been developed in collaboration with the Icelandic Civil Aviation Authority, Integra Consult and the Czech Civil Aviation Authority.
