Information and Digital Signal Processing Division
The Information and Digital Signal Processing Division emphasizes specialized processing of measurement data, registration of multi-channel data, filtering and conversion of signals into computerised form. Methods for analyzing and processing data are developed, for example in telecommunications, bioengineering, physiology and earth sciences.
About the division
Remote sensing, image processing, computer intelligence, fuzzy calculation methods and neural network calculations are important areas within the division.
In remote sensing, measurements are made from aircrafts, among other things to monitor active volcanoes, changes in geothermal areas and to map vegetation cover. Furthermore, various types of satellite data are processed.
Collaboration
In recent years, the division has collaborated with many companies, including Landspítali's Department of Radiology and Landspítali's Department of Ophthalmology, on the diagnosis of physiological signs, for example in the diagnosis of diseases.
